Auto Assembly recently saved the world from apocalypse by releasing it’s biggest ever news announcement. Unfortunately, long time TF.netter and AA Committee member Duh_Prez was unable to upload the announcement here, as he too was saving the world – from drowning in excess Peroni. What’s a guy to do when a stag night calls?
Anyway, here it is – the biggest Auto Assembly Announcement EVER. When you’ve watched it, you can discuss what this means for the future of transformers conventions in our Transformers Forum.
Following the huge success of the 2009 Script reading video, the folks at Auto Assembly have decided to release a high quality version of their epic 2010 script reading… and it’s online right now!
We’ve been working hard with our Youtube Channel over the last few weeks preparing lots of new videos for all of you including a lot of major news videos that we will be uploading over the next couple of weeks, but right now we’re pleased to announce the first in a series of uploads coming over the next couple of weeks featuring archive footage from the convention itself…
The first of these is online NOW and we are proud to announce the re-release of our first ever script reading from Auto Assembly 2009. Featuring a brand new 25 minute Beast Wars story written by man-of-the-moment Simon Furman, this was a fun script that played strictly for laughs and featured performances by our voice actor guests Gregg Berger and Ian James Corlett and comic artists Nick Roche and Simon Williams, supported by fans who auditioned for the remaining roles.
Previously uploaded to Youtube in three parts, it has now been remastered as a single part video and in High Definition, you can watch this much loved script as only our convention attendees were able to! You can see the full video on our channel here:-
The script readings have become an Auto Assembly tradition since 2009 and are a part of our Saturday night programme which is exclusive for those who attend the convention for the full weekend. In 2010, our script was again written for us by Simon Furman and featured Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil, Nick Roche and Simon Williams and will be available on Youtube in the next seven days so keep checking the channel to see what you have missed out.
If you are considering attending Auto Assembly 2011, this is a great way to get a teaser for what you can expect from our 2011 script! Again, Simon Furman is at the helm and David Kaye and Gregg Berger are both confirmed to take starring roles. Who else will be performing? You’ll have to come along to find out…!
More convention footage will be uploaded shortly including panels from Auto Assembly 2009 and 2010, and Garry Chalk’s acoustic concert from Auto Assembly 2010! We also have more massive announcements and news videos coming soon so keep an eye out for our next video shortly including our next guest update…
Tickets for Auto Assembly 2011 are available now from our website. Ticket prices are £50 for adults and £38 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. One day tickets are available for the Saturday or Sunday (although these will NOT get you into the Friday or Saturday evening programmes) and these cost £30 for adults, £21 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5’s as always are free. Family tickets will be available shortly.
The convention is taking place over the weekend of 12th – 14th August 2011 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. Tickets for Auto Assembly 2012 will go on sale later this year.
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk
We’ve had another couple of quiet months publicly for Auto Assembly, but as ever, we’ve been working frantically to make 2011 our biggest ever convention and we’re ready to unveil our latest serious of announcements…
We’ve got loads of things to announce and update all of you with on Europe’s largest Transformers convention including an announcement on two more guests making an appearance this year, an update on a great panel that we’ll be organising and another update and surprise about Auto Assembly 2012…
Rather than tell you all here, you can see all of them announced here in our latest new video on our Youtube Channel here:-
And that’s not all… we’re having a bit of a video frenzy on Youtube this week! We’ve uploaded more footage from last year’s convention and for those of you who weren’t there, or if you want to see some of Saturday night’s programme, you can now see our Cosplay Competition in it’s entirety right here:-
We’re going to be uploading some more exclusive footage shortly including Garry Chalk’s concert and the latest of our superb script reading sessions featuring Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil and comic artist Nick Roche!
We’re doing a lot more work on the convention at the moment as well and our Committee Head Simon is making inroads into catching up on all the paperwork following all of the personal issues he has had to deal with over the last 8 months and as well as working on some great stuff for Auto Assembly 2011 that we’ll be announcing soon, we have some fantastic plans ahead for Auto Assembly 2012 and beyond and you can expect to hear more from us on these shortly…
You will have noticed that our website hasn’t been updated for some time and this has been a direct result of Simon’s personal circumstances, but the site has just undergone a major content update as well and you’ll find all the latest news and updates on the convention there, including our new promo poster / flyer which you can download.
Finally, if you have booked for Auto Assembly 2011 and still waiting for your confirmation emails, we are processing the final batch of these and they should be issued shortly. Please check your spam box as well as your inbox as we are aware that some mail addresses (most notably hotmail and yahoo) do have some problems receiving email from us.
We are also trying to finalise the despatching of the AA2010 Non-Attendee Packages. The delay of these has been frustrating for us this time around and has been out of our control. We are looking to see if we can include extra items for everyone who has placed orders for them, but it is our intention to ship these in the next 3-4 weeks at the latest.
Anyway, for those of you who want to attend Auto Assembly 2011, tickets are available now from our website. Head on over to the Auto Assembly 2010 homepage for more details on how to pre-register.

With now just under 560 registered attendees, Auto Assembly 2010 has smashed its record from the past two years and maintains its place as Europe’s largest Transformers convention.
Auto Assembly is teaming up with Hasbro again this year for some fantastic competitions this year that will blow everyone away!!
In the past couple of years we have had displays that have included displays of some of the curent toy ranges on offer in the UK and the unveiling the UK’s first lucky draw toy that was produced in 2008. But for Auto Assembly 2010, it’s going to be awesome…
This year, Hasbro have generously supplied us with no less than THIRTY sets Of the eagerly anticipated Challenge At Cybertron boxed set featuring Universe Cyclonus, Galvertron and Rodimus! This set is not being released in the UK and at the moment, it’s not even released in the US and when it is, it will be a Target exclusive!!
To be in with a chance of winning one of these, you MUST be pre-registered for the convention. We will then be holding a random prize draw and 30 lucky winners will be chosen, and winning tickets will be inserted into the attendee packs that you will collect when you arrive at the convention. If you find one, bring it to the Registration Desk to claim your prize!!
If you haven’t already booked, there’s still time to be in with a chance to win one of these great sets of toys and be entered into some of our other draws that we will be announcing soon…!
To find out more about Hasbro’s involvement and some other things they are doing, watch the official announcement video here:-
Tickets are selling fast for the convention and if you want to be a part of this and the prize draw you need to book quickly! Every day we are setting a new attendance record so why not hurry and be a part of Europe’s biggest Transformers convention.

Every year, the attendance figure for Auto Assembly has grown consistently from its humble beginnings 10 years ago to becoming Europe’s largest Transformers convention. One thing that we can always depend on is that no matter how steady bookings are throughout the year – despite the odd surges following major announcements – is that we have a massive rush in the closing couple of weeks when everyone who hasn’t booked and wants to attend remembers that they still need to order their tickets…
THAT TIME IS NOW!!
Last year, in the final 18 days we had 85 bookings – 17% of the total turnout of the convention in the space of just a couple of weeks. We have already set a new European attendance record (at the time of writing this, we have 512 bookings) and with bookings coming in faster than ever, we predict that the convention could well be a total sell out over the next two weeks or so.
At the moment we still have approximately 100 full weekend tickets available and 50 Sunday passes and that’s it! Non-Attendee Packs are also available and there is no limit on the number of these that are available as they are produced to order. If there are going to be any on-the-door tickets available, we won’t know about these until about 48 hours before the convention and we will announce this on the convention website. If these are available, we *may* have a limited number of one-day Saturday passes on sale, but the only tickets we can guarantee at the moment are pre-bookings.
With the convention being this close, many of you may feel that we have nothing left to announce and that everything you can see on the website it is for this year’s convention. Well we still have a LOT more to come… We have just confirmed our FOURTEENTH guest for this year – Titan comic artist Lee Bradley who is making a return to Auto Assembly and although Lee will only be with us for the Saturday, he’ll be involved in a panel with our other comic guests and will be around all day to meet fans providing sketches and will no doubt be around for our Saturday night party!
But what other announcements do we have on the way? We are going to be announcing the full list of items in this year’s charity auction shortly (which all of our Non-Attendees will be able to bid on), news on some great prize draws we will be running for all pre-registrants, full details and images of this years convention merchandise, and a lot more surprises that we have in store…!
