Transformers 2: Chevy Beat Character Revealed, Plus More Images

Jalopnik has posted new images at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. On set were the Chevrolet Camaro (Bumblebee), the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Beat.

The license plate of the Chevrolet Beat seems to reveal the name of the character that will transform into that car. The name is Skids, the Autobot who appeared only briefly in the G1 cartoon. This isn’t confirmed, but would seems a suitable choice for the vehicle.

Animated Wave 4.5 NOT Cancelled, Just Delayed

Written by Big Bot on October 7, 2008 | Animated,Hasbro,News,Toys | Tags: , ,

After all the worrying and Hasbro UK hate resurfacing it seems we UK fans need to take a step back (again). it seems hasbro UK haven’t been very clear with their output. Wave 4.5 of Transformers: Animated, consisting of 2x Swoop, 2x Sentinal Prime, 1x Jazz, 2x Elite Guard Bumblebee, 1x Prowl, has NOT been cancelled but will probably turn up nearer to Christmas. The reasoning behind this is likely that due to wave 4 already containing Swoop and Sentinal Prime and jazz and Prowl alreading being out, there is a need to try and avoiding flooding the stores with the same figures.

Wave 4 (Wave 4 (834621483) – 4x Swoop, 4x Sentinal Prime) should be hitting the UK later this month.

Simon Furman’s Bog: Revelation’s End

it’s been awhile since SImon Furman updated his blog, but with the release of The Transformers Spotlight: Sideswipe this week, he has posted some story teasers for the issue.

Expect lots of story progression in this crammed 22 page issue, but also look out for the amazing art from E.J. Su, who has gone full out.

Expect more blogging from Simon later this week with the release of Titan’s Transformers #17 on Thursday.

IDW Comic Releases – 08/10/08

Three releases this week, with some new and some old material. Firstly the new stuff, completing the revelation saga is The Transformers Spotlight: Sideswipe, coming from Simon Furman and E.J. Su and Animated fans there is Transformers Animated: The Arrival #3, which continues the short, in-continuity stories.

For old material, we have 2 trade paperbacks, The Transformers Best of the UK: Space Pirates TPB, a reprint of the Marvel story and The Art of IDW’s Transformers TPB, which is the paperback version of the hardcover that came out last year.

Chris Ryall again has some covers for these titles on his blog.

Transformers: Animated on the Verge of Cancellation in the UK?

Written by Big Bot on October 6, 2008 | Animated,News,Toys | Tags: , , ,

An interesting but worrying rumour here. According to one of the guys at Kapow-Toys.com, Hasbro UK could be cancelling the TOYLINE in the UK. Sellers have been told that pre-orders should not be taken for wave 4.5 or beyond as the line may be discontinued before then.

This is surprising news given the fact that Animated toys seem to be flying off the shelves for fans looking for the latest figures, but given that the toys (and cartoon) get little exposure, it could turn out to be true.

Stan Bush Wants The Touch in Guitar Hero

Written by Big Bot on | News | Tags: ,

kotaku.com are reporting that Stan Bush has contacted Activision about getting his famous song from Transformers The Movie, “The Touch”, in one of their “Guitar Hero” games.

There has also been the suggestion for it to be put in Rock Band, but given the expensive nature of the game, I would rather the former.
