Michael Bay offers reward to find puppy killer

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on September 2, 2010 | Transformers 3 (2011) |

A recent video showing a Bosnian woman throwing a bag of puppies into a river has appalled people all over the world, including Transformers director Michael Bay. Bay was so disgusted by the callas actions of the woman that he offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the discovery of the woman.

Woman throws puppies into river

The video, which we’re not about to show here, shows the woman wearing a red top and laughing as she tosses a bag full of three day old puppies into the river. You can also hear the puppies whimpering as they land in the water.

The actions of this woman have irked animal defence group PETA, and now Bay (currently working on Transformers 3) has offered the reward. Bay is a known dog lover himself and offered the reward via his blog.

Transformers 3 on set photos

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on August 2, 2010 | News,Transformers 3 (2011) |

We’ve received an email from Maor Gillerman from anyclip.com letting us know that they’ve managed to get some brand new, exclusive photos taken on the set of Transformers 3 in Chicago – which is filming right now. By the looks of the photos, there is some major battle going to take place in the Windy City, knocking over buildings and destroying cars.

Here’s one of the pics, head on over to their website to see the rest.

Real life Transformer!

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on July 2, 2010 | News |

We’ve featured a few pictures on this website over the years of real life transformers, but this one has to be the largest yet. This is a massive 18 vehicle combiner spotted hanging around a car park – possibly awaiting Megatron before launching an attack on the Autobots.

Victoria’s Secret model confirmed for Transformers 3

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on June 3, 2010 | Transformers 3 (2011) |

It’s been the worst kept secret in Hollywood the past few weeks, but now it comes from the website of the man in charge. Michael Bay, director of the first two Transformers movies and the man at the helm of the explosions and fast camera work in Transformers 3, has confirmed that English Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has even worked with Michael Bay before when he directed an ad for Victoria’s Secret – no doubt where he first noticed her talents.

You can see the news confirmed here at Michael Bay’s website, together with a rather nice picture of the new Transformers babe herself.

Megan Fox quit Transformers over her weight

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on June 2, 2010 | Transformers 3 (2011) |

Despite Paramount stating that they chose not to renew the contract of Megan Fox for Transformers 3, Megan herself insists that she didn’t want to return because she didn’t want to gain weight for the role.

Michael Bay famously doesn’t like his leading ladies to be too thin and insisted that Megan put on some weight for the previous two Transformers movies, which didn’t set well with Megan at all.

Now that Megan can spend the summer in the shape that she wants, rather than what Michael Bay wants, she has been holidaying in Hawaii with Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles star Brian Austin Green, and Megan looks very slim indeed – look away now Michael Bay!

Megan even has a new tattoo, which reads:

‘Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.’

Megan has been replaced in Transformers 3 by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Fans of mega babe Megan Fox will be disappointed to learn than the diminutive actress will not be returning in Transformers 3, released next year. Instead Megan will be replaced by a British girl, Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Even though the casting of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hasn’t been officially confirmed by Paramount, Victoria’s Secret has commented on the news, running with a video congratulating their model on winning the part in Transformers 3.

According to Paramount, it was their decision not to renew Megan Fox’s contract in Transformers 3 – although other sources state otherwise.

Transformers Rachael Taylor engaged?

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on April 7, 2010 | Transformers movie (2007) |

With the publicity that Mega Fox (as she’s sometimes known) generated around the Transformers movies, it’s sometimes easy to forget that she wasn’t the only drop dead gorgeous woman in the film. Rachael Taylor also simmered in the first movie, starring as a high tech computer hacker – cos they all look like that in the movies.

Well, it’s bad news guys. It looks as if the lady is engaged, to Matthew Newton from Underbelly.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a friend of Newton’s has commented:

“[Newton proposed] quite a while ago now, almost two months maybe, but they are really happy. She said ‘Yes’ straight away. They just understand each other. They are a really unique couple.”

Neither the agent for Rachael Taylor or Matthew Newton confirmed the news however, so there’s still a chance.

Optimus Prime enters the political arena

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 25, 2010 | News |

Let’s face it, we’d all like to see Optimus Prime run for president of the United States. He’s noble, caring, full of charisma and he’d personally wage the war on terror – however as Optimus is fictional his entry into any presidential race is unlikely.

Or so you’d think…

Optimus Prime is actually involved in a presidential election campaign this very instant, in the Philippines. Optimus is part of the presidential campaign for Richard Gordon, and his running-mate Bayani Fernando.

The pair are big Transformers fans, and they have used the Transformers all the way through their campaign – culminating in the creation of two Optimus Prime trucks which have been used to tour the Philippines drumming up support. One of the Primes follows the pair around the country, while the second Prime has been touring independently to raise support for their campaign.

Transformers have played a big part in the election process so far, with Richard Gordon and Bayani Fernando referring to themselves as ‘the Transformers’. In a recent interview the pair stated:

We are transformational leaders. We represent change.

Gordon elaborated:

I transformed Olongapo from a sin city to a model area, with an employment of 200,000.

If you want to follow Richard Gordon and Bayani Fernando in the election, and to see what happens with their campaign and the two Optimus Primes, you can do so on their website.

We wish him the best of luck!

Transformers 3D or not 3D?

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 24, 2010 | News,Transformers 3 (2011) |

We reported recently that Transformers guru Michael Bay was looking at some test footage to see how Transformers 3 would like if it were Transformers 3D. It appears now though that the tests aren’t going well, as Bay has revealed he is unimpressed with the test footage.

This means that Transformers 3 may not be in 3D after all.

The news comes from an interview posted on the Deadline Hollywood website where speaks very frankly about the test footage that is being worked on right now.

I shoot complicated stuff, I put real elements into action scenes and honestly, I am not sold right now on the conversion process.

I am trying to be sold, and some companies are still working on the shots I gave them. Right now, it looks like fake 3D, with layers that are very apparent. You go to the screening room, you are hoping to be thrilled, and you’re thinking, huh, this kind of sucks. People can say whatever they want about my movies, but they are technically precise, and if this isn’t going to be excellent, I don’t want to do it. And it is my choice.

Michael Bay even shows signs of creative integrity too as he talks about how he’s not willing to make the film 3D if it’s not going to work properly, just for the sake of making more money on the cost of a cinema ticket.

This conversion process is always going to be inferior to shooting in real 3D. Studios might be willing to sacrifice the look and use the gimmick to make $3 more a ticket, but I’m not. Avatar took four years. You can’t just shit out a 3D movie. I’m saying, the jury is still out.

Ferrari 458 Italia in Transformers 3

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 23, 2010 | News,Transformers 3 (2011) |

Fans of the original G1 Transformers, and of cars in general, will have noticed that the live action Transformers movies of Michael Bay have been a little too heavy with American cars. In Revenge of the Fallen for example, Sideswipe (who should have been a Lamborghini) instead took the form of a Corvette Stingray for his chase with the Audi R8 (and quite frankly, a Corvette would have never made those corners against the Audi).

In the first Transformers film, Jazz (originally a Porsche 935 in Transformers G1) was instead turned into a Pontiac Solstice. It’s a tragedy where inferior American cars replace the quality European cars that made the Autobots famous.

Now, at long last, there’s going to be a serious European car in Transformers 3 – the Ferrari 458 Italia. The Ferrari 458 Italia is a 4.5ltr V8 and is the replacement for the F430.

This comes from the man himself, Michael Bay.

Bay wrote on his blog:

I also was at a Ferrari charity event this week raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti. I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.
