The second set of 20 questions have been sent to Simon Furman, and he has answered them, providing some spoilers, but also some teasers for future comics. The first 15 have been placed on IDW’s forums, whilst the last 5 can be found on Simon’s own blog.

What Do You Want In Transformers The Ark Volume 2?
With the apparent success of Transformers The Ark earlier this year, IDW Publishing are planning on a second volume with more original character models from the TV show and comics.
The collection will contain over 200 pages with stuff from Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Studio Ox designs, advertisements and much more. The book is due in the summer of 2008, but IDW want your suggestions for what you would like to see.
Hopefully the success of this book will lead to similar projects involving other Transformers series.
Transformers Animated Comic First Look
Comics News International have posted the first pages from IDW Publishing’s Transformers Animated comic series. The first issue, Transformers: Animated Vol. 1, is due out in January 2008 and is an adaptation of the 70 minute movie. The comic is made using screen captures from the actual cartoon and the script.
Official Transformers Animated Site Launched
Cartoon Network have put up their official site for Transformers Animated. The series is due to start on 26th December in North America with the 70 minute movie and proper on 5th January.
The site has an episode guide and character bios, so beware of spoilers if you decide to visit it. There is also a video preview of the series, exclusively available to people who live in USA, but luckily it has been recorded onto YouTube.
No More Revelations
Simon Furman has posted some juicey information in the comments section of his blog on the title of the next Transformers story arc title:
Right now, writing-wise, I’ve just finished up on the outline/overview for the next big story arc, and it’s NOT ‘Revelation.’ Boy I love to tease.
This could mean a few things, like a new Stormbringer like story that happens at the same time or is needed before Revelations or it could just mean a complete name change altogether.
No Delay For Transformers 2
According to Transformers 2 director Michael Bay, there is no delay to the film and it will be release on 24th June 2009, or 26th July 2009 if you live in the UK or any country where they can rip you off.
Nelson has posted this on his forums:
BTW, Bay just indicated to me that Transformers is still on schedule. The movie is still in heavy prep and “will be released JUNE 24th 2009.”
Entertainment Rights Secure Latin American Distribution Rights for TF Animated
Global media company, Entertainment Rights, who currently have the broadcast rights to Transformers Animated in many countries, now has added Latin America to its collection. The 26 episodes and 70 minute movie will now be available to broadcasters in the region to get and makes it more likely on the series reaching a wider audience.

Transformers Wave 2 ’08 Real Gear
Hasbro have officially released details on Wave 2 Real Gear for 2008 with photos of each. The 3 characters, Farsight T-20, Midnighter XR-4 and Twitcher F451, are all due out in early 2008.
FARSIGHT T-20
FARSIGHT T-20 is a scientist and analyst who is used to examining both sides of any problem with which he is presented. His keen intelligence and highly logical mind can break down any issue to its most important few points and reach a conclusion within a few moments. He joined the AUTOBOTS not because of an ethical compulsion, but because his analysis put them squarely in the right. Many DECEPTICON strategists have tried to out think FARSIGHT T-20, but all have failed.MIDNIGHTER XR-4
Paranoid and frantic, MIDNIGHTER XR-4 is terrified of being late or missing a scheduled deadline. The problem is that, because he’s so preoccupied worrying about it, he never actually manages to be on time for anything. When he sets a bomb to go off, you can bet it will detonate fifteen minutes late. If he’s planning an attack at dawn, chances are nothing will happen until after breakfast. Other DECEPTICONS hate working with him, because no mission goes off well with him in charge.TWITCHER F451
TWITCHER F451 is a psychological profiler, specializing in anything that makes the AUTOBOTS uncomfortable, angry, or afraid. With only a few minutes of observation, he can draw highly specific conclusions about almost any target’s greatest mental weaknesses, and come up with a way to exploit them. He takes a great deal of pleasure in making other robots uncomfortable, so even other DECEPTICONS tend to avoid him.
ARE YOU THE NEXT TRANSFORMERS COVER ARTIST?
Well here’s your chance.
The masterminds behind the “Transformers: Mosaic,” in partnership with Chris Ryall, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of IDW Publishing, are running a competition for all Transformers artists, which gives them the chance to be considered for providing a variant cover to an upcoming Transformers comic produced by IDW Publishing.
Excited yet? Good, you should be.
So how does it work?
Step 1: Email your full name to Next.Tf.Cover.Artist@gmail.com by the end of December, 2007.
Step 2: On the first of January 2008, you will be emailed the name of the Transformer you are to provide a “cover” for.
Step 3: You have until February first to submit your work.
Step 4: Once all entries are in, they will be divided into groups based on characters used.
Step 5: All entries will be displayed on the IDW forums ( http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewforum.php?f=2) and voting will commence. Voting will be open for 2 weeks.
Step 6: Once voting is complete, the top 3 artists from each group will be contacted and given another character to prepare a cover for and another month to complete.
Step 7: The second round of entries will be posted on IDW forums and voting will once again be carried out.
Step 8: Once voting on the second round is complete, the names and contact details of the top three artists will be given to Chris Ryall, who will work through the final process.
Things you need to know.
1. There is no guarantee that this will lead to paid work for IDW
2. All work should be submitted in line-art only, no colors allowed.
3. Be creative, designs can either be classic or your own redesign.
4. Voting can only be done by members of the IDW forum, and yes, you can vote for yourself.
So, if you think you’ve got what it takes, step up and prove it!
