Live-Action Movie has a Screenwriter

Written by admin on October 11, 2007 | News,Transformers movie (2007) |

John Rogers has been announced as the man to write the script for the upcoming Live-Action Movie. Mr Rogers has recently adapted another comic for the big screen, with last summers Catwomen. Now don’t panic, because the script is being based on a story by DeSanto (the guy who basically made X-Men 1 & 2 really good), and will always have Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer.

Help support Auto Assembly 2005

Written by admin on | Auto Assembly,Conventions,News |

Simon Plumbe, one of the organisors of UK convention Auto Asembly, has posted a message in our forum about the need for help in getting the best guests for AA2005 next year. Please have a look at what he’s said here, visit the Auto Assembly website and help support the convention so that we can get the very best people over to see us.

People like Frank and Peter are *extremely* busy so getting them on that basis alone is difficult although I have got contact details for both so approaching them isn’t hard to do.

The one thing we want to make sure of with voice actors is that we invite guests who really WANT to be at Auto Assembly and that covers guests ranging from comic artists/writers, voice actors and everyone else and the voice actors we’ve been talking to so far really want to come along.

The big problem for us is money and I can’t stress that enough. Based on the registration cost, we can’t afford ANY voice actors without some form of additional support. If we get enough bookings to fill AA2005 to capacity AND we get some additional income (for example though merchandise sales of AA2004’s magazine, the Auto Assembly DVD etc.) then we *might* be able to afford to bring Wally back for next year.

For any other voice actor, we will need some form of sponsorship or other help. We are talking to possible sponsors but this is going to involve a lot of intense negotiation but there are no guarantees and we are not talking about a small amount of money. We have been talking to voice actors to get estimated costs for appearances and we are talking about THOUSANDS of pounds to bring voice actors over to the UK.

For AA2004, Wally came over ECONOMY class for his flight, something that he couldn’t do again (it was really painful for him to cope with the 12 hour flight) and all he asked for was his flight and hotel costs. The other actors who have expressed an interest in attending have just asked for expenses i.e. flights and accommodation.

There are some actors who will expect appearance fees as well as the above so we would need a lot of money to make it happen but it CAN be done IF fans are willing to help us make it happen…

If you go to the Auto Assembly website you’ll see a lot of adverts spread throughout the site. These all help raise money for Auto Assembly. For a lot of these, we get commission on sales if people make purchases after visiting links, and with others we get payments if people sign up for free services etc.

Some offer fantastic payments (Morgan Auctions, for example, pay us £2 for each registration!) and if we can get a good income from these then we can do everything possible to get VAs for 2005. We’ve used these advertisers ourselves so we can vouch for the quality of them, and there’s something for everyone. We’ve also got access to a lot more and we’ll be adding more to the site over time.

I know I’ve said this before, but everyone reading this (and every visitor to the TF.net site if it was mentioned as a news story) could help to try and make it happen.

Tracks and reissue update.

Written by admin on | News |

It looks as though the two versions of Tracks, Binaltech and Alternator will vary in colour as well as quality. While we now know that Alternator Tracks WILL be blue, after viewing a picture of the back of the Binaltech versions box it seems that this version will be staying yellow. This may not mean a lot, after all the back of the Energon Ultra Magnus box show a picture of the figure in it’s Overload colours so they may have changed it after all. On the reissue front, ActionHQ.com have just got Takara #14 Hound in, and they also have the Hasbro version of Stepper-Ricochet in as well before a lot of other places. Meanwhile #15 Stepper is scheduled for release on the 26th of this month and has all the properly sized accessories(See Hasbro oversized rockets!!) that Jazz has but coloured gold to match his colour scheme along with Nightstick of course. It also seems that a Takara #17 Predaking set is now definitely on as more sites put up pre-orders for it.

Transformers on PSP

Written by admin on | News |

Sony’s PlayStation Meeting 2004 in Tokyo happened yesterday, and confirmed what Andrew Carter said in an interview on Eurogamer about the possiblity of “Transformers” being released onto the PlayStation Portable. Transformers will be a release title when the console comes out early next year in Europe and USA. With PSP specs rivaling the PS2 and given the time to release, this will likely be a port of the original. At first Sony wanted unique titles on the PSP, but have changed their minds since then.

ATARI AND UNIVERSAL MOTOWN RECORDS GROUP ANNOUNCE JOINT MARKETING RELATIONSHIP

Written by admin on | Armada,News,Press Release,Video Games |

Atari’s TRANSFORMERS Video Game Hits Cross-Promotional Road with ReAlign/Universal New Band, DROPBOXBEVERLY, MA – April 12, 2004 – Highlighting the entertainment industry relationships that have become its hallmark, Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq ATAR) today announced an ongoing cross promotional collaboration with Universal Motown Records Group, which will tie-in ReAlign/Universal’s hot new band, DROPBOX, with Atari’s highly anticipated TRANSFORMERS video game for the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system, based on Hasbro, Inc.’s popular TRANSFORMERS brand.

This marketing relationship will utilize both traditional and non-traditional marketing vehicles to support both the May 11 launch of the TRANSFORMERS game and the DROPBOX album release on April 13. The campaign will include the utilization of DROPBOX performance footage and the TRANSFORMERS game footage in the band’s forthcoming new video and Atari’s TV advertising spot; radio advertising, in addition to TV; online street teams; and live performances.

“The high level of collaboration between Atari and Universal Motown Records Group enables both companies to significantly extend the effectiveness and reach of their marketing efforts,” said Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of marketing for Atari. “DROPBOX and the TRANSFORMERS game are already generating significant buzz with their respective core audiences, and this partnership should serve to attract new fans to both.”

  • DROPBOX’s new music video for “Wishbone,” shot by award-winning director, Nigel Dick, and produced by Quentin Tarantino’s production company, A Band Apart, will feature TRANSFORMERS game footage;
  • A TRANSFORMERS brochure will be included in 1 million Universal Records music CDs;
  • Atari’s TRANSFORMERS TV commercial will highlight the “Wishbone” sound track and portions of the band’s music video;

  • The DROPBOX multi-city promotional radio tour will include mention of its tie-in with Atari’s TRANSFORMERS video game;
  • Atari’s in-store TRANSFORMERS videos will feature DROPBOX’s “Wishbone” single and its version of the TRANSFORMERS theme song;
  • Universal will develop and produce key account radio commercials which will include a TRANSFORMERS tag;

To kick off this relationship, DROPBOX celebrated with video game media at Atari’s TRANSFORMERS preview event in February. In anticipation of the formal agreement, public relations and promotional initiatives for the making of the DROPBOX music video featuring Transformers video game footage are moving forward as well as additional retail and consumer outreach.

“Atari and Universal Motown Records Group are respected industry leaders and it is fitting that such a collaborative effort comes from two such vanguards,” said Kojo Bentel, SVP of Strategic Marketing and Business
Development, Universal Motown Records Group. “Music has become a crucial element of the video game experience and DROPBOX’s raw, rock sound is a perfect fit for Atari’s TRANSFORMERS game.”

Developed by Atari’s Melbourne House studio, the TRANSFORMERS game will be available worldwide on May 11, 2004. More information can be found online at www.atari.com/transformers

Official Fan Club Cancellation?

Anyone who’s registered for the OTFCC might be a bit worried that the main fan club exclusive Mega PVC Skywarp (Starscream repaint) toy apparently ain’t happening. I for one, hope it gets worked out, as they now owe me two of the flippin things.
