Devil’s Due have the license!!

Written by admin on | News |

According to my source, it would now appear that Devil’s Due publishing has picked up the Transformers comic license. Now what this means for the current series (War Within, G1, Energon and the hotly anticipated Beast Wars) I have no idea, but I should imagine that these lines will be carried on as usual. With any luck, perhaps some, maybe all those who worked on the Dreamwave series will be pulled in to carry on the good work. Beryllium digital units crossed and watch this space!!!

Takara’s Mini Toys Shop Collection

Written by admin on | News |

Takara is releasing a new toy line of "miniaturised versions of their
most popular toy lines dating back to the late 60’s to mid-80’s" including
Optimus Prime. The thing is, he’s even smaller than the ‘Worlds Smallest
Transformers’ (not any more) Prime, but manages to be more realistic.
The photo evidence isn’t conclusive of whether he transforms or not, but you
do get a replica of a newspaper clipping of the toy’s original advertising,
and er… some Japanese bath salts.  Don’t ask me, I just report this stuff…

Transformers Season 1 with FREE tin released October 11th

Written by admin on | News |

It’s come to our attention that several retail sites have incorrect information pertaining to the Transformers Season 1 DVD due to be released from Metrodome.

There are two separate releases, one with the FREE tin and one without, but they are BOTH released on October 11th. Currently Amazon only have one listed, and Play have different dates for both releases.

The two releases have DIFFERENT catalogue numbers, so if you want the tin you have to order the correct version. The version with the free tin has the catalogue number MTD5169, whereas the version without the tin has the number MTD5168 (which is listed on Amazon).

So once again, catalogue number MTD5169 comes with the free tin, and is released October 11th.

More Alternators in UK after all!

Written by admin on | News |

Debunking the notion that the UK will see no more Alternators, Silverstreak has been confirmed as being available to buy from Argos stores, and is included in their new catalogue, available this Saturday. Now, we all know that just because the toy is pictured in the catalogue does not always mean it’ll be available then and there (recent examples include Powerlinx Hot Shot, Galvatron and Skywarp), but in this case, some Argos stores have already reported stock of Silverstreak arriving. He’s in UK packaging, and Hound is pictured on his box also (not that THAT means anything either, mind you).

Other new toy pictured in the new Argos catalogue include Energon Megatron and Energon Omega Supreme. Note, however, that they share size classes with Optimus Prime and Unicron, respectively, and it’s almost certain that they won’t be in stock for some time.
