X box in transformers movie ?
In a bit of interesting news The XBox 360 may be making its film debut of sort according to these reports.
The New Transformers movie that wll be out July 4th, 2007 brings the world of gamers into the picture. Robert Sanchez, the editor for the online entertainment publication, The Movie Reporter, who claims to have gotten a copy of the script cites a specific scene that may get gamers’ attention
“I almost forgot to mention one of the most stupid scenes in the script. For reasons that I won’t get into, we see an iPod, Xbox 360, and plasma screens sprout legs and transform just a bit.”
That an interesting idea including a Transforming Xbox. Definately good product placement. While this no final word on what will be in the release we will have to see what comes of it
I would take this as a rumor for now but intersting news still?

The Transformers movie update
Chad Sterling Frey has joined the Art Department of The Transformers movie, according to his website
I have joined the Art Department of DreamWorks latest project directed by Michael Bay and Production Designed by Jeff Mann. A live action adventure based on the Hasbro toys of our youth, “Transformers” is the story of the war between the good-guy Autobots and the evil Decepticons; each are a race of machines who change form from known Earth objects (a car for example) into a more humanoid battle robot form. Heavy on visual effects and high on set and location count “Transformers” starts principle photography this summer.
Dark Horizons have revealed one of the locations for the movie:
Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico (right near ‘White Sands’) looks to be a major location for the upcoming film.
Don Murphy’s Sunday Update
Don has made this weeks update nice and short. All that he has written is “May 22, 2006”. So what does this mean? Most likely the date that principle filming starts or something to do with casting.
Don Murphy confirms Shia LaBeouf!
The Transformers producer Don Murphy has confirmed that Shia LaBeouf is being cast as Spike Witwicky in the movie, not some person called “Sam”. Here is what Don had to say on his message board
By Borys Kit and Tatiana SiegelShia LaBeouf is in final negotiations to star in “Transformers,” the DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes, ships and other technological creations.
Michael Bay is directing the movie, which is being produced by Angry Films’ Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Steven Spielberg is executive producing.
In Transformers lore, the robots are divided into two groups the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, who believe in tolerance and the sanctity of life; and the Decepticons, led by Megatron, who espouse survival of the fittest and the extermination of biological life.
LaBeouf will play Spike Witwicky, an 18-year-old on the lookout for his first car. When he buys one, he discovers it is actually an elite sentinel for the Autobots.
The original script is by John Rogers, while Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci penned the most recent draft.
Hasbro’s Brian Goldner also is exec producing.
The movie, which has a July 4, 2007, release date, is set to start shooting in Los Angeles in May.
Adam Goodman is overseeing for DreamWorks.
LaBeouf will now have the distinction of starring in the first two DreamWorks movies to go before cameras since Paramount acquired the studio — he also is starring in DreamWorks’ “Disturbia,” which starts shooting Friday. He most recently starred in “The Greatest Game Ever Played” and will next appear in “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints,” followed by Emilio Estevez’s “Bobby.”
LaBeouf is repped by Endeavor and the Beverly Hecht Agency, John Crosby Management and attorney Matthew Saver.
