More confirmation of Transformers II title

Written by Big Bot on June 5, 2008 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: , ,

Michael Bay’s official website has posted the following picture, further confirming the title of the movie. Most likely, it isn’t the final logo, which will probably be more like the first logo, but with the subtitle.

Filming at The Boneyard planned for July

In an article discussing the economic impact that movies have locally, The Arizona Daily Star reports that some filming for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen will take place at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base’s Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group in Tuscon. This region of the base has been given the nickname, The Boneyard, and has been confirmed for use in July by the paper.

Expect more details on who will be there soon.

Confirmed “Revenge of the Fallen” subtitle

Hasbro have updated their official website, Transformers.com, with an update confirming the “Revenge of the Fallen” subtitle for Transformers 2.

The full title for the sequel is now Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and will feature some returning Decepticons and not the character, The Fallen.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is due for release on 26th June 2009 in North America.

New Transformers 2 Title?

Apparently, Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures have released the full name of Transformers 2 to be Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

There hasn’t been any confirmation from Paramount of this name, and the only person involved with the film to make an response is Don Murphy, who has simply linked to the article from his message board. “Revenge of the Fallen” appeared as a trademark filed by Hasbro last month.

The Fallen is a character that first appeared in Dreamwave’s War Within: The Dark Ages comic series, and later made into a toy for the Titanium line. The title could also mean the fallen Decepticons from the first film, as Reserve Result also received an image of Megatron with the title.

Transformers 2 – Self Contained Sequel

Written by Big Bot on June 4, 2008 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: , ,

Some more good news coming out of Transformers 2 HQ is that the sequel won’t be part 1 of 2, but will in-fact be a standalone sequel without the annoying cliffhanger at the end. This all according to director Michael Bay. This isn’t to say that Transformers 3 won’t happen, or be hinted at, but don’t expect Matrix style sequels.

Talking to MTV, he goes on to say that the “First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let’s just say [this] is not a lame sequel”. and that we can expect a lot more from the robot cast, even though there are a lot more on screen; “The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels,”.

Josh Duhamel also on set in Bethlehem

Producer Ian Bryce has confirmed to Mcall.com that Josh Duhamel is on the set at Bethlehem for filming of Transformers 2, for which Michael Bay plans to have three night shoots in the made-up Chinese industrial city.

There are also 2 photos with the news article, one is of an aerial shot of 2 Black Hawk Helicopters and the other is of Michael Bay and some crew members in a golf cart, doing some filming. As the driver is looking where he is going, they may be about to crash.

Aaron Hill Joins Cast Of Transformers 2

Aaronhill.biz, Aaron Hill’s personnel website, is reporting that he will be involved in filming in a supporting role in Transformers 2.

Not much is known of his role, but he will be on the east coast of the USA later this month for filming.

Matthew Marsden Signs up to Transformers 2

Written by Big Bot on June 3, 2008 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: ,

MTV are reporting that Matthew Marsden, who has appeared in Rambo, Black Hawk Down and Resident Evil: Extinction recently, has been cast in Transformers 2.

The 35 year old British actor is to play a British Special Forces character called Graham. This, of course, brings up more questions, like if Michael Bay is planning on shooting in the UK, or doing an Austin Powers 2 and pretending sunny California is just like the UK.

Either way, all we know is that he is joining with Captain William Lennox and Robert Epps to battle the Decepticon forces.

Is Jazz returning for Transformers 2?

Written by Big Bot on May 31, 2008 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: , ,

TFW2005 are reporting that they have received information that a Pontiac Solstice was spotted on the Bethlehem set for Transformers 2. The Solstice is the model used for Autobot Jazz, who, as you probably know, was killed by Megatron in the first movie. They have also apparently received confirmation that Darius McCrary, the voice of Jazz, is present on the set.

Now, a couple of keep points make this report seems unlikely, but still possible:

1. Michael Bay clearly said he will be putting out false information to keep the real information underwraps. 2. He also said on his message board on 4th January “No Jazz is dead. We have way more cool robots to come.”
3. Why would Paramount/Dreamworks be paying for a voice actor to be on set, when they normally hire a cheaper actor to provide all the lines for all the the robots to help the human characters. This method was used on the first film, so there would seem little reason to change.
4. They are currently no pictures of the Pontiac Solstice on the set and that the “confirmation” of Darius McCrary being there as well was by an unnamed “second tipster”.

When filming starts on 2nd June, we should have some more confirmation either way, so stay tuned.
