RID Ultimate Collection out on DVD Today!

Written by Big Bot on December 1, 2008 | DVD,Maximum Entertainment,News |

For the third time, RID is being released on DVD in the UK today, but unlike previous attempts in 2004/05 and 2007, this package is one complete set with all 39 episodes spread over 6 discs, titled Transformers: Robots In Disguise Ultimate Collection.

There are still no extra features, but 39 episodes for £11.99 is a bargin in anyone’s book (take note Paramount!). The cover is also a combination of last years covers, and is rated PG, not U has most covers indicate.

IDW Comic Releases – 04/12/08

Written by Big Bot on | Comics,IDW Publishing,News |

Everything in IDW’s catalogue is arriving 1 day later this week, so no need to get angry. This week sees two releases, Transformers: Best of UK: Time Wars #5, the final part of the Marvel UK story reprint, and Transformers Animated: The Arrival #5, the penultimate issue of the series.

Chris Ryall has also got his dates mixed up, having originally announced Maximum Dinobots #1 and
More than Meets the Eye Vol. 2 TPB coming this week. This explains why he has the covers for these comics on his blog.

No More Beast Wars Comics For Now

Written by Big Bot on November 28, 2008 | Comics,IDW Publishing,News | Tags:

Bad news people, after two Beast Wars comics series and a set of sourcebooks, it seems we will not be getting any more for the foreseeable future. Editor Denton J. Tipton has posted the announcement on the IDW forums, but didn’t give a reason. Most likely it is due to the large number of comics planned for 2009, with lots Revenge of the Fallen comics coming.

I’m sorry to report that there are no Beast Wars minis planned for the near future.

At least this gives me time to complete my Beast Wars story.

Masterpiece Grimlock Size Comparison

Written by Big Bot on | News,Takara,Toys | Tags: ,

A poster at Actoys.net has compiled a group of images together which provide a good indication of how tall Masterpiece Grimlock will be.

As you can seem he will be slightly shorter than Masterpiece Optimus Prime in robot mode, but his dino mode will be the same height as Prime. This should help it fit in with other Masterpiece figures.

Universe Silverbolt & Stormcloud out in UK

Written by Big Bot on November 27, 2008 | News,Toys | Tags: ,

Multiple sightings (including my own) have reported that Transformers Universe ultras Silverbolt and Storm Cloud are out now in the UK, having been found in Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores. The figures cost £24.99 each and are waves 2 and 3 respectively. The figures can also be found on Hasbro Toy Shop, here and here.

Maximum Dinobots #3 Marcelo Matere Cover

The cover for The Transformers: Maximum Dinobots #3 has been revealed, which has some major spoilers. The cover is done by Marcelo Matere, and has a Marvel UK feel to it. Maximum Dinobots #3 is out in February 09.

The logo filled cover can be found here, with the clean and inked versions here.

Animated Stealth Lockdown out in UK

Written by Big Bot on November 26, 2008 | Animated,News,Toys | Tags: ,

Another new Transformers: Animated figure makes it to the UK, this time being Deluxe Stealth Lockdown, which comes with Legends Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The figure costs £19.99 and was spotted in Tesco by forum member iprimus.

In North America, the figure was a store exclusive to Target.

Fortress Maximus Transformation Sequence

Written by Big Bot on | Comics,IDW Publishing,News | Tags:

Jim Sorenson has posted the transformation sequence for Fortress Maximus. The piece was originally, as well as other transformations, to be included with The Ark books.

A repackage of The Ark and The Ark II is coming in August 2009, perhaps with some more content, if space can be found.

More Questions Answered by Orci

Roberto Orci has provided some more updates on Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.

The film length is probably going to be longer than the first, which ran for 2 hours 17 minutes in cinemas. The recent footage shown at the wrap party was only selected footage, and not a trailer, with no robots featuring at all.

Animated Tech Specs in TFCC Magazine #24

Written by Big Bot on November 25, 2008 | News | Tags: , ,

With a season 3 preview already in the issue, the Official Transformers Collectors’ Club will now be offering Transformers: Animated tech specs, with 10 in issue #24 and then 2 in each issue for the rest of the year.

It would have been nice if the tech specs were given an updated feel to them, considering this same style appeared 25 years ago.
