Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Rated by MPAA

Written by Big Bot on May 29, 2009 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags: ,

mpaapg13BoxOfficeMojo have received information from the MPAA about the rating decision for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The film will be rated PG-13 in the USA, meaning that some material may not be suitable for children under 13. This is the same rating as the first film.

Here is the reason for the decision, which gives the impression the same sort of humour will be the same as the first film.

intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material, and brief drug material

Expect other countries to announce their ratings in the coming weeks.

Hi everyone,

As you know, we previewed the inks to the convention exclusive comic for Auto Assembly 2009 recently when we were interviewed over at Transformers@TheMoon. Since then, many people have wanted to know what the finished cover for our convention exclusive variant cover to IDW’s All Hail Megatron Issue 13 is going to look like. Well, the wait is over…

Adding the finishing touch to Nick Roche’s pencils is the fantastic colours of Liam Shalloo to bring you this fantastic tribute to Jurassic Park and featuring Grimlock (both of whom will be attending the convention and who can sign the comic for those of you who buy it along with G1 voice actor Gregg Berger)! The comic is being produced for Auto Assembly 2009 by Apocalypse Comics and will be available during the convention weekend from their table. Sales will limited to a maximum of just TWO per attendee while stocks last as there are only 1,000 copies being printed of this book!

Auto Assembly 2009 is set to be a record-breaking convention for European Transformers fans and this is one convention you don’t want to miss!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen The Movie Universe Book out in UK

Today I received my copy of Dorling Kindersley’s latest book, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen The Movie Universe, from my ‘local’ Amazon UK store.

The 96 page book by Simon Furman, contains character profiles for most of the main bots and humans in both the original film and this years hotly anticipated sequel, but also some details on the Civil War between the sides and Trans-Scanning abilities.

Many characters have 3 double page spreads dedicated to them, looking at their robot, vehicle and weapon modes, whilst most others get the first 2 categories. Disappointingly, certain characters, like Bonecrusher and Brawl from the first film, aren’t included, and upcoming characters, like Jetfire and Ravage, only have one double page spread. The back cover also seems pretty poorly done, with the ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ logo actually looking out of place.

Here are some (badly) taken photos for you to gloss over.

Bay on Budgets, Efficiency, Waste and Deadlines (Not Politics Related)

Written by Big Bot on May 25, 2009 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | Tags:

The LA Times have another article about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, this time focusing on Michael Bay himself.  He’s currently still working on the film, with the picture not even finished yet, “This one is going to barely make it to theaters.  You have no idea how complicated my life is.” He may be right, given that the film is meant to be shown at the UK  premiere on15th June (that’s 20 days away), and the BBFC still haven’t rated the film yet.

He also makes reference to the films budget, which clocks in at $200 million, comparing it to other more expensive films, and that the film industry is full of waste and needs to become more efficient, like himself.  Finally, the article confirms that Tom Kenny, the voice of Transformers: Animated Starscream, is part of the vocal cast for the sequel.

Madman Complete Beast Wars and G1 Japan Sets & TFTM on Blu-ray

Transformers The Movie Blu-ray (Madman)Madman Entertainment have updated their website with details on three new DVD sets coming next month.

The first 2 sets are simply repackages of DVD sets that have already been release. There is a complete Beast Wars set, containing all three seasons and the extras and a complete Transformers Japan Generation One Complete Collection, with all Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory and Zone episodes.

The final DVD is a Blu-ray version of Transformers The Movie. The set contains all the same features as Madman’s 2 disc DVD version from 2007, but has the movie in high definition. It’s expected that this is the same master as Metrodome’s Blu-ray version.

All three sets are out on 24th June in Australia.
