Leonard Nimoy to provide voice work for Transformers 2?

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on April 22, 2009 | News,Transformers The Movie (1986),Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

Could it be true? Could the man who voiced Galvatron in Transformers The Movie really be providing a voice for one of the characters in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

If Michael Bay has anything to do with it he will, as the two are actually related. Yup, our favourite action movie director and the pointy eared one from Star Trek are what the Americans like to call ‘kin’.

Leonard Nimoy is actually married to Michael Bay’s cousin, so the dream of having another voice actor from the original animated classic appear in the new movie could become a reality.

Michael Bay explained in an interview with MTV:

I’m still not done with all the voices

When asked about Nimoy, Bay added:

You know, he’s related to me,” laughed Bay. “And now that you are filming this, maybe you can send it to him.

[Nimoy] is married to Susan Bay, who’s a cousin to me. I just feel kind of bad about asking him. Like ‘I can’t pay you that much? But would you do this voice?

Would he do it? He suggested to my mom that he might do it.

It’s nice to know that even in Hollywood and on a multimillion dollar movie, someone still to ask their mum to ask their cousin’s husband if they’ll come out to play.

Hasbro’s profits fall, despite Transformers

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on April 21, 2009 | Hasbro,Toys / Action Figures,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

Hasbro announced that its Q1 profits had dropped by 47%, which is a massive decline and probably as a result of the global recession. However Hasbro did say that its movie related products (including toys for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen) would boost its profits in the next quarter.

Brian Goldner, the Chief Executive of Hasbro, stated:

We don’t believe these results are a reflection of the underlying strength of our brands.

Incredibly, current sales of Transformers have dipped, along with other Marvel toy lines. Star Wars and board games have been continuing to sell well though.

The problem here is we’re clearly not buying enough Transformers!

Sales should improve for Hasbro when the movies ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ and of course ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ all open later this year.

Megan Fox in Empire

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

If you’ve frequented your local newsagents recently you’ll have probably noticed the gorgeous Megan Fox staring at you from the cover of Empire. In the pages of the magazine Megan talks about the new Transformers movie, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.

Notice too the Autobot tattoo on her shoulder. Calm down guys, that’s probably fake. I’ve got a TF tattoo on my arm too, maybe if I met her we could compare tattoos!

Transformers Toys website for G1 Transformers

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 25, 2009 | News,Toys,Toys / Action Figures |

If you’re looking for G1 Transformers toys online there aren’t that many websites you could turn to, assuming you don’t visit eBay of course, which has been most people’s port of call for some years. One website selling Transformers toys that has just come to our attention is www.transformerland.com, which sells G1 Transformers in abundance.

Unlike some Transformers websites that claim to sell G1 Transformers, but are always low on stock, Transformerland.com currently (at time of writing) has almost 2,000 in stock, so you’re likely to find what you’re looking for.

They don’t just have G1 Transformers either, they sell Transformers from 1984 through to the present day.

What makes it different though? Transformerland.com allows you to negotiate on the prices! Where else can you do that? Not even on eBay.

Another useful thing about the website is that it will help you to identify those parts you’re not quite sure of. Is it Grimlock’s sword or Snarl’s?

As well as being a shop, it also has a Transformers forum if you want to ask questions and mingle with Transformers fans.

Has anyone used Transformerland.com before? If so, let us know what you think.

Tyrese Gibson still can’t believe his luck at being cast in Transformers

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 9, 2009 | News,Transformers movie (2007),Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

Star of Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Tyrese Gibson, is naturally excited about being part of the movies, but still can’t get over how lucky he is. Tyrese was a fan of Transformers when he was a child (who wasn’t?) and as such is living out his fantasy by appearing in the Transformers films.

Gibson, a singer turned actor, became a hot property after the first Transformers movie in 2007, which grossed $701 million at the worldwide box office.

What’s even better for Tyrese, and something we all dream about, is that’s he’ll have an action figure made of his character for the sequel, Transformers 2, which is released in June.

Tyrese says:

They’re showing us all the latest toys that are going to be out with the film and everything, it just feels so mega-big. It’s a real honour to be a part of this whole situation. I grew up looking at the Transformers cartoon. I was the little kid with the bowl of cereal in my hand, in my drawers watching Transformers. So it’s crazy!

Megan Fox not on the market again?

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on March 6, 2009 | News,Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen |

Bad news fellas, it seems the most beautiful woman in the world (after Arcee of course), Megan Fox, is not on the market and in the hunt once again for a new man.

The star of Transformers, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has been seen out with her fiancé, shopping in LA. Megan and Brian Austin Green were spotted out together in West Hollywood, shopping for groceries. Just like real people eh?

The source said:

They weren’t holding hands or anything. She was just sort of following him around.

Apparently they then went shopping for furniture, before going to Austin’s home.

Real downer eh?
