You’ve heard of the Indiana Jones ride, you’ve heard of Space Mountain, now you can ride the Transformers ride at Universal Parks.

The new Transformers movie, Revenge of the Fallen, is due out next year on June 26th, and to celebrate the movie Universal Studios are planning a theme park ride based on the movie.

The ride was announced yesterday, Monday October 20th, and is set to be unveiled before the summer 2011 in both Universal Studios Singapore, and Hollywood.

Spielberg is of course involved, as he was for the Jurassic Park ride and the E.T. Adventure.

You can read more about the Transformers ride here.

Transformers Citroen Advert

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on September 28, 2008 | Multimedia |

This advert is currently running in the UK, featuring a robot walking down the streets of New York, dancing to the tune of Staying Alive, before Transforming into a Citroen car.

I don’t think this as good as the Ice Skating robot that was on the Citroen advert before the Transformers movie came out, but it’s still worth a watch.

Play Transformers Top Trumps

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on September 14, 2008 | Site Updates |

If you’re familiar with the game Top Trumps, you’ll love this Generation One Transformers version that works on the Tech Specs of the original characters. There are currently only 24 Transformers cards in the game, but we’ll be adding more as soon as we can.

Have a play of the game, see if you can beat the computer, and remember that the highest value always wins! Better hope you don’t get Bumblebee and the computer gets Galvatron then!

Photos from Auto Assembly 2008

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on August 12, 2008 | Auto Assembly |

Last weekend we went to AA (that’s the Transformers convention as opposed to the alcoholics meet) and took some photos. Sadly, looking at the photos in the cold light of day we might as well have been at an alcoholics meet.

Still, it was all good fun. If you were there, let us know, or tell us about in our Transformers forum.

The guys from TheTransformers.Net, with our very own table at the convention. Thanks to Sven and Simon for setting that up.

More photos can be seen in our picture thread on the forum here.

Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on July 25, 2008 | Animated,Video Games | Tags: ,

We just received an email from Activision about Transformers Animated on Nintendo DS. They’ve sent us a fact sheet and some screen shots. This looks pretty cool.

Based on Cartoon Network’s animated television series of the same name, TRANSFORMERS Animated, available exclusively on the Nintendo DS™, under license from Hasbro, delivers an exciting action-adventure experience. As they blast through DECEPTICON-controlled hoverbots, players attempt to solve challenging teamwork-based puzzles and race through the motorways of a futuristic Detroit, dodging on-coming traffic while seamlessly changing between robot and vehicle-form. Fans take control of all their favorite AUTOBOT characters, including OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, BULKHEAD and PROWL, as they work together to reclaim the lost fragments of the Allspark before the DECEPTICONS intercept it and claim Cybertron as their own.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Adventure beyond the animated series – Gamers experience TRANSFORMERS Animated in a whole new way in this action-adventure game based on the animated series and featuring several of the characters and environments fans enjoy.
  • Play as your favorite AUTOBOT characters – Players instantly switch between AUTOBOT team members using their special skills and unique individualized weapons to overcome enemies and challenges. They can take down a boss with OPTIMUS PRIME, outrace foes with BUMBLEBEE, break down barriers with BULKHEAD or outmaneuver enemies with PROWL.
  • It’s all about teamwork – Faced with a number of challenging side-scrolling puzzles, fans must utilize each AUTOBOT team member to solve problems. Working as a team and combining the abilities of each AUTOBOT is the key to recovering all three Allspark shards before the DECEPTICONS.
  • Speed through the Detroit motorways – Gamers experience slot-car racing-inspired driving at high speeds as they race through a fictitious 22nd century Detroit in several fast-paced driving challenges.

New Transformers website design

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on July 21, 2008 | Site Updates |

You may have noticed our site has just changed somewhat. Not before time either. We’re ironing out the kinks, and other old rock bands, in order to get it running smooth for the Transformers convention at AA on August 2nd. We need a funky website to make sure we cover the event properly.

Anyhow, if you see anything that is amiss, mention it our forum somewhere and someone will pick it up, probably Duh_Prez, he lives there.
