$25,000 wager that Skin and Mudflap are not to be seen in Transformers Dark of the Moon

Written by Tom Potts on May 16, 2011 | Transformers: Dark of the Moon |

Director Michael Bay has hit back at the first review of the up and coming Transformers film “Dark of the Moon” that is due to be released in cinemas on July 1st.

In the first actual review of the film that was featured on the famous movie website “Aint it cool news” the writer Capone mentioned about “Street-smart robots here to entertain us.”

“Yes, they’re back too, but let’s just say they’re toned down,” wrote Capone.

However Michael Bay is strongly denying that the Transformer twins, Skin and Mudflap, are even in the final instalment of the franchise. Michael Bay posted on his website the following statement:

“After the Internet posting of a nice review by someone who saw “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” the writer had been clear on one thing. He misstated that the Twins are in the film. They are not”

“So I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens,” he added.

Capone also released a statement stressing that he was not referring to the twins in his article. He commented:

“Hey, everyone. Just to 100 percent clear, I’m not referring about the ‘The Twins’ here; they are most definitely not in this film,” wrote Capone in his edited review.

“I’m talking about Wheelie (Tom Kenny, who also voiced Skids in ‘Revenge of the Fallen’) and other similar smaller robots, who act like streetwise teenagers.”

Bay’s posting does not include any information on how to claim the prize should you actually spot the twins in the film.

Latest Transformers toy releases from Hasbro

Written by Tom Potts on | Hasbro,Toys |

Hasbro is keeping fans excited about the release of their latest Transformer toyline, which will go on general sale on the 16th May.

Hasbro has been updating regularly in anticipation of the launch and recently revealed the character Cyberverse Legion Crowbar. The Vector Sigma database, that also launched during the redesign, reveals Crowbar as part of the Dread team, along with Crankcase and Hatchet. Additional figures that are part of this update include fellow Legion class, renamed from Legend Leadfoot, Bolt Bumblebee, and Commander Blackout.

As well as the characters Hasbro has included a brief description about the toy characters and their strengths and abilities.

CROWBAR infiltrates and observes AUTOBOT tactical movements with unmatched stealth and intellect. He has been trained in the most brutal DECEPTICON attack strategies for the unlikely event he is discovered.

BUMBLEBEE charges into battle, engine roaring, and ready to turn DECEPTICONS into scrap. His dogged bravery is idolised by the AUTOBOTS and feared by his enemies.

LEADFOOT and his cohorts drive fast, have a thing for loud weapons and maintain a strong dislike for DECEPTICONS. But LEADFOOT is not all flash and show; while on CYBERTRON he was called a genius weapon designer!

These toys are going to be on wide release and will be available from most retailers such as ASDA, Amazon, Argos, Boots, Debenhams, Firebox.com, Hamleys, John Lewis, Play.com, Smyths, Tesco, The Entertainer, Toymaster, Toys R Us and WH Smiths.

Product selection, availability, and pricing may vary by retailer.

Exclusive Prime toy available with your ticket for Transformers Dark of the Moon

Written by Tom Potts on May 10, 2011 | Transformers: Dark of the Moon |

A promotion by a Japanese firm, Lawsons, is under way ahead of Michael Bay’s new Transformers film, ‘Transformers Darkside Moon’ (as it is known in Japan). People who buy a 3D ticket to see the new film can also get the chance to buy a limited edition Prime Black toy. The toy, that is a re-release of a previous model, has a few differences to the first one. The price for one of the toys and a ticket to go and see the film in Japan will be around fifty pounds – sounds like a bargain!

The Promotion which the firm started on the 1st May is going to carry on running until the 28th of July; the day before the film premieres in Japan.

The figure is a repaint of the of the Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Voyager Optimus Prime. According to the silhouette of the figure, this exclusive figurine is going to have the blades fitted instead of the battle hooks. The battle hooks were an exclusive to Japan the first time that this figure was released, while all other models outside of the country had the blades.

Lawsons is also doing a separate promotion where they will include a loop strap for handheld gaming devices or mobile phones and similar electronic gadgets. That is separate of the exclusive figure promotion and will be available until June 30th.

The film, which is titled “Transformers Darkside Moon” in Japan is due to go on general release on the 29th July and is suspected to be a huge film summer blockbuster worldwide.
