Written by Big Bot on July 25, 2008 | Comics,News,Titan |

Simon Furman has updated his blog with news on the first issue of Titan’s Transformers: Animated comic. The artist for the first issue is John McCrea, who has worked on the “how to draw Transformers” segments of the Titan Transformers UK comic, and other Titan properties, including TMNT, Judge Dredd and Hitman.

Also provided are 2 inked pages from the issue.

Reign of Starscream #5: Printing Now

Chris Mowry has updated his blog with the news that the 5th and final issue of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream has been approved for print. Hopefully the issue can make it’s August release date, or at least early September.

Issues #1-3 have already been released, with issue #4 coming on 13th August.

If you plan on attending the San Deigo Comic-Con this week, Chris will be at the IDW booth from Wednesday night to Friday, and will be giving out new bits of information.

Spotlight: Blurr Confirmed

After IDW Editor-in-chief Chris Ryall posted a teaser for the next Spotlight issue, lots of guesses were submitted and one character seemed more popular than others, Blurr. Well, it turned out to be true, with the fastest talker in the universe being confirmed in his own Spotlight issue in December.

The issue will be written by Shane McCarthy with art from Casey Coller and colours by Joana Lafuente. The cover and first 3 pages can be found below:

You can pick up the magazine tomorrow from all good newsagents in the UK.

Titan Magazines have updated their Transformers magazine website with details on the latest issue, which is being released this Thursday in the UK. Transformers #14 features a new story from Simon Furman, Aftermath #1, which continues the events of Twilight’s Last Gleaming.

The magazine will also contain material from IDW’s Beast Wars the Ascending and Megatron Origin, and contains the usual features including a robot blaster.

Simon Furman’s Spotlight Hardhead Preview

With Transformers Spotlight: Hardhead out tomorrow, Simon Furman has decided to post his thoughts on the issue he wrote. The second in the Revelation saga continues the story Dead Universe plot and picks up some details from Spotlight: Nightbeat. If you can’t wait until tomorrow, read Simon’s blog post for more plot details.

To wet your appetite for the release tomorrow, Newsarama.com have posted a 4 page preview of the issue.

Transformers Comic Releases – 16/07/08

Only two comic releases this week, but both play important roles in IDW’s main continuity and the movie continuity.

Transformers Spotlight: Hardhead
Transformers Movie Sequel: The Reign of Starscream #3

Chris Ryall has also posted both covers for The Reign of Starscream #3.

Updated schedule for IDW’s August 08 comics

Written by Big Bot on | Comics,IDW Publishing,News | Tags: , ,

IDW Editor Denton J. Tipton has posted an updated schedule for IDW’s Transformers comics releases for the beginning of August.

6th August
Transformers Movie Sequel: Saga of the Allspark #2

13th August
Transformers: The Reign of Starscream #4
Transformers Animated: The Arrival #1
Transformers Best of U.K.: Time Wars #1

All that’s left for August is ROS #5, Spotlight Doubledealer and All Hail Megatron #2.

Next Transformers Spotlight Mystery Character

The release of Transformers Spotlight: Wheelie last month completed the third set of Spotlight issues, but has left fans wondering who would be in the next set of 5.

IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall has posted a teaser for the main character in the next Spotlight issue. The picture shows a close up of the characters head. The picture is drawn by Casey Coller, who has been signed up to draw the whole issue after his work on Apocalypse Comics’ variant cover for All Hail Megatron #1. The issue will also be written by All Hail Megatron writer Shane McCarthy, with a scheduled release date of December.

Reign of Starscream Competition – Where is Starscream?

Competition time people, and a simply one at that. Writer Chris Mowry is offering fans a chance to win the original drafts and other bits of material from Reign of Starscream #1, copies of the finished issues #1, #2, and #3 and the scripts for the issues. All you have to do is take a picture of Starscream by 31st July. Simple. Full details can be found on Mowry’s blog.

So that’s the contest! Send me your photos of Starscream (in toy form… any version) visiting somewhere on our planet. Would he go back to Ohio to seek out the fembots of Botcon? Would he be hiding at a local coffee shop? Finally learning about human physiology at the beach with Barricade? Of course, he wouldn’t travel far without a copy of his comic book, now would he? IT’S UP TO YOU!!!
