HIGH MOON STUDIOS PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS

Original Voice Actors for OPTIMUS PRIME and GRIMLOCK
Headline a Stellar Cast in the Most Epic Transformers Video Game Yet

Santa Monica, CA – June 14, 2012 – High Moon Studios is creating the most authentic TRANSFORMERS game ever with the announcement that fan-favorites Peter Cullen and Gregg Berger, the legendary voices of OPTIMUS PRIME and GRIMLOCK from the original TRANSFORMERS animated TV series, will reprise their roles for the upcoming TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON video game. Set to launch on August 28, 2012 from Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON will allow gamers to experience the final, darkest hours of the war between the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS as they vie for control of their dying home planet.

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON will also feature the talents of voice-over veterans Nolan North (BRUTICUS, CLIFFJUMPER and BRAWL), Troy Baker (JAZZ, JETFIRE and KICKBACK), Fred Tatasciore (MEGATRON, RATCHET and METROPLEX), Steve Blum (SHOCKWAVE, SWINDLE and SHARPSHOT), Isaac Singleton (SOUNDWAVE) and more.

“This is the definitive TRANSFORMERS video game, and we absolutely had to have these iconic voices onboard in order tell this story,” said Peter Della Penna, Studio Head, High Moon Studios. “Because it’s an origins story, we were able to explore some of the coolest characters in the lore for TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON, and then go after the best and most authentic voice talent possible to do the franchise right.”

“There is no mistaking the voices of OPTIMUS PRIME and GRIMLOCK, and we are so happy that fans will get to experience a game featuring the distinctive voices of many of the most iconic and popular TRANSFORMERS characters,” said Mark Blecher, SVP of Digital Media and Marketing, Hasbro. “The development team at High Moon Studios did a phenomenal job hand-picking the cast for what is by far the most diverse character roster ever in a TRANSFORMERS video game.”

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON challenges fans to fight through both sides of the TRANSFORMERS’ most epic battles that culminate in their legendary exodus from their home planet. With the stakes higher and scale bigger than ever, players will embark on an action-packed journey through massive, war-torn environments designed around each character’s unique abilities and alternate forms, including GRIMLOCK’s nearly indestructible T-Rex form and the legendary COMBATICONS combining into the colossal BRUTICUS. Taking the franchise’s competitive multiplayer to all-new heights, the game will allow fans go head-to-head in blistering AUTOBOT vs. DECEPTICON matches after creating their own unique characters with the most in-depth, advanced customization ever before seen in a TRANSFORMERS video game.

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON is being developed by the acclaimed team at High Moon Studios for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows® PC, and is rated “T” (Teen) by the ESRB. Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2012
It’s hard to believe that we are now just eight weeks away from Auto Assembly 2012, Europe’s Largest Transformers Convention. It feels as if Auto Assembly 2011 has barely been behind us, but with the convention nearly upon us we wanted to give everyone a reminder that the convention is fast approaching and that tickets are selling faster than ever this year and that we are on target for a total sell out!
We’re now entering our “rush period” for ticket sales – the time of the year where we traditionally sell over 50% of our tickets for Auto Assembly – so if you haven’t already booked up, now is the time so you don’t miss out. If you still haven’t made up your mind, check out the website for all of the details about this year’s event or watch the first part of our recap video on our youtube channel here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nign7-lENd0 and you can see our current trailer video here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWy4HPlZT80
With seventeen guests, our biggest ever line-up of dealers, a massive new four-star venue, great free gifts for attendees including a magazine, lithograph and comic, what more could you ask for?
Auto Assembly 2012 is located in Birmingham in the centre of the UK so it’s easy to get to from all parts of the country. If you are travelling from anywhere in Europe, there are affordable flights from most of Europe to Birmingham International Airport (which is on the same site as the convention hotel) and for those of you who are travelling from further afield, flights to the UK are a lot more affordable than you might think…
Registration for the full weekend (which includes access to EVERY part of the convention including all our workshops, panels and free autographs with no additional charges) is just £45 for adults and hotel accommodation is just £50 a night for a single room or £60 for a twin or double making the convention affordable for everyone!
We’ll be bringing you a lot more updates over the next few weeks as the convention draws closer including great news about our displays, dealers, the cosplay competition and we’ll be announcing the return of our Non-Attendee Package for those of you who can’t make it. We may even be bringing you some news about Auto Assembly 2013…

Our annual forum meet is taking place this weekend in Birmingham. The official thread for the meet is here on our forum, and any transfans are welcome to come along and say hi, and/or buy us beers. Some members have already geeked into Birmingham early and are enjoying the second city as we type this, whereas many more of us will arrive later tonight or tomorrow.

Assuming we’re able to, because there are no guarantees, we’ll get some photos up over the weekend so you can see what sort of stuff we’ve been doing.

If you do want to come along and meet some friendly, slightly drunk, Transformers fans in Birmingham then check out the forum thread for details – or you can comment here anytime over the weekend and, assuming I’ve not lost my phone, I’ll get the message and can let you know where we are… that is of course assuming I know where I am, which is no gimmee.

Bot Shots game is looking good

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on | Hasbro |

The Hasbro toy fair collectors’ event in New York seems to have gone well this year. These events are always made more difficult by the fact that corporations are obliged to promote their products throughout the year. This means that those who attend the events run the risk of being less than overwhelmed by things they have already seen promoted in advertisements and so on. Hence toy companies have to be shrewd enough to keep some interesting details back before unveiling them at fairs.

2012 was the fifth year Hasbro chose to showcase its products in this way and it seems to be developing a winning formula. There was a lot to see and the company clearly has a busy year ahead. Transformers fans will be pleased to learn that a theme park construction will be opening in Universal Studios, as we reported last September. However, British fans may be even more interested in some toy-related news.

Bot Shots will be launched via an internet game on March 1 2012 and offline products will become available. At first glance, prices seem reasonable. In the United States, $5 will be the amount charged. A fan will be able to collect up to 44 small robot figures. Playing with them should be great fun because when the Bot Shots come into contact with one another all sorts of possibilities will open out.

Hasbro has put quite a lot of development into how the Bot Shots will be played. The outcome of battles will be determined via a process that may seem complex at first. However, this process will soon become second nature we’ve been assured.

Hasbro and FarmVille enterprise team up

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on February 22, 2012 | Hasbro |

What is good for Hasbro is good for Transformers as, if Hasbro does well, their toy output is likely to go from strength to strength. Hasbro has recently entered into a very exciting partnership with Zynga. For those unfamiliar with Zynga, they are a firm which make games that are played on the social media giant Facebook. These games include the well-known FarmVille, among other games designed to eat away at your free-time.

Zynga is a big and powerful corporation, much like Hasbro itself. Lots of people love playing their games online (although not me). Believe it or not, the market value of Zynga currently exceeds that of many long established (more…)

Countdown to Transformers 4 begins

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on February 21, 2012 | Transformers 4 (2013) |

It has been a few days since director Michael Bay declared his intentions with regard to Transformers 4. A release date for the movie he has now been confirmed to direct has been pencilled in for June 29 2014 by Paramount. Steven Spielberg is on board once again as executive producer and has already begun some work on the project. However, we do not yet know very much about other aspects of the sequel to ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’.

This far ahead of a release it would be unusual to be clear about many details of a film. However, two big questions have been asked by both journalists and fans. People would like to know whether or not Transformers 4 will amount to more of the same. They would also appreciate it if they knew something about the cast of the upcoming movie. Of course, Michael Bay (more…)

Restricted Sunstorm and Encore Sixshot releases

Written by Darren 'Starscream' Jamieson on | Takara,Toys |

Recent MP-11s Sunstorm information may be very interesting to many British Transformers fans. Takara has pencilled in a launch date for July or August 2012. Only 1,000 of the attractive Sunstorm toys will be made available in Japan. There may be more pieces which will be obtainable in other Asian markets, but there is as yet no information forthcoming with regard to potential western availability.

To buy a piece of the action in Japan, you would have to shell out 12,000 yen. This is approximately equivalent to £95 at the moment. The Sunstorm piece will come in an aesthetically pleasing black package for those fortunate enough to have a purchasing opportunity.

The Encore Sixshot release is planned to occur in July 2012. The price will be exactly the same as the Sunstorm figure. Nonetheless, the packaging will be quite different. Apparently, it will possess a leather finish and a special aperture. These features will help make it into a real collector’s item. At nearly £100, it might be thought that these kinds of luxury elements are what should be expected as part of the overall package.

Not every Transformers fan has the kind of budget with which to afford such extravagant purchases. Nevertheless, many of us in Britain would enjoy the opportunities presented by having a local release. Hopefully, Takara will one day perceive that there is a British demand for this type of special offer. Until then, we can feast our eyes on what our Asian friends can look forward to.
