Reign of Starscream #3 – 5 Page Preview

Another blog post from Chris Mowry, and this time it is a 5 page preview for Issue #3 of Transformers: The Reign of Starscream.

As you recall, at the end of Issue #2, Starscream and Thundercracker are reunited at the Decepticon camp on Mars. Starscream was weakened from his exploits on Earth, but was slowly recovering. Much to their amazement, a group of Autobots had been patrolling the planet and had been alerted to their location.

Reign of Starscream #3 s out on 16th July, written by Chris Mowry and drawn by Alex Milne.

Rainn Wilson On Set Pictures

Photos taken today have shown actor Rainn Wilson, who plays the professor in Sam’s Astronomy class, on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen set. Transformers Lice Action Blog have also received a report of the scene, confirming Shia’s involvement.

Dark Horizons have also had an interview with Wilson, briefly taking about his role and working with Michael Bay.

Question: You haven’t signed up for anything else for your next hiatus, have you?

Wilson: No. I mean, this hiatus, there really was nothing shooting, because there’s this potential SAG strike happening. So there are not really any movies happening right now. But I have The Rocker to promote and I’m doing a couple days on The Transformers II.

Question: Oh, really? As whom?

Wilson: As a robot. No. As a professor. But maybe he’s a robot. Maybe I’ll just pretend he’s a robot, or I’ll play him as a robot.

Question: Have you ever worked with Michael Bay before?

Wilson: I have not worked with Michael Bay before. And I think that is a hilarious, hysterical match-up. Is Rainn Wilson and Michael Bay. It’s like – I was at the MTV Awards last night, and Paris Hilton and their boyfriend wanted their pictures taken with me. And I – as the camera clicked, I said, “This one is for the ages.” I love the idea of Rainn Wilson and Paris Hilton, together at last.

Bay Responds to Mystery Transformer

After the video and photo of a little mechanical robot on set yesterday, speculation has spread on who or what it is. Luckily, director Michael Bay has posted a response on his forums confirming that it is a Transformer, but leaving us guessing who.

What that picture is – that is not a complete Transformer. We use detailed puppets for effects for sizing and color – the real effects are later completed but the robots are much more complicated.

I will post soon to tell you all about the shoot.

Transformers: Animated The Game was originally revealed in a leaflet included with the USA release of Transformers: Animated Transform and Roll Out DVD, in June 2008.

Activision, current license holder for Transformers games, hired Quebec based developer Artificial Mind and Movement to bring the Animated universe to life on the Nintendo DS, replacing Vicarious Visions, who worked on Transformers: Autobots and Transformers: Decepticons.

Like the comics, the story was conceived by Marty Isenberg, who is the story editor for the cartoon series.

Features

Adventure beyond the animated series – Gamers experience TRANSFORMERS Animated in a whole new way in this action-adventure game based on the animated series and featuring several of the characters and environments fans enjoy.
Play as your favorite AUTOBOT characters – Players instantly switch between AUTOBOT team members using their special skills and unique individualized weapons to overcome enemies and challenges. They can take down a boss with OPTIMUS PRIME, outrace foes with BUMBLEBEE, break down barriers with BULKHEAD or outmaneuver enemies with PROWL.
It’s all about teamwork – Faced with a number of challenging side-scrolling puzzles, fans must utilize each AUTOBOT team member to solve problems. Working as a team and combining the abilities of each AUTOBOT is the key to recovering all three Allspark shards before the DECEPTICONS.
Speed through the Detroit motorways – Gamers experience slot-car racing-inspired driving at high speeds as they race through a fictitious 22nd century Detroit in several fast-paced driving challenges.

Critic Review Scores
The game received generally average scores with praise being made for the voice acting, team based puzzle gameplay and visuals. The driving sections and the lack of any depth to the game were seen as the main negative aspects.

More Paramount Craziness: Animated DVD Pricing

Written by Big Bot on | Animated,DVD,News,Paramount | Tags: , ,

Paramount haven’t been kind to the UK. They delayed the Energon DVDs, delayed the Transformers movie by a month, delayed the Movie DVD and HD DVD, delayed the two Animated DVDs due out this year and are now pricing the Animated series DVDs at weird prices.

The RRP for Transformers: Animated Transform and Roll Out DVD (68 minutes) has been set at £12.99, but can be found for £8.99 at most online retailers. The Animated Season One DVD, containing 13 episodes, only has a RRP of £9.99, but has a length of roughly 280 minutes, or 4 times as long.

On the good news for Paramount, they are only releasing the Transformers movie on Blu-ray in the UK 6 days after North America, on 8th September. That’s more like it.

Coloured Cover for Reign of Starscream #4

After the inked cover for Transformers Movie Sequel: The Reign of Starcream #4 was revealed earlier in the week by artist Alex Milne, writer for the series Chris Mowry has posted the fully colour version of the cover.

Reign of Starcsream #4 is released in late July, with Issue #3 released on 16th July, hopefully with no delays.

Duhamel Talks Transformers 2

Empire Magazine bumped into Josh Duhamel on the set of When In Rome and managed to get 2 sentences from him on the story of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

“I guess who he’s working with is probably the biggest change,” said Duhamel, before adding once more, presumably for emphasis. “Who he’s working with.”

Now this, as Empire propose, add fuel to the rumours that The Fallen will feature in the sequel, and that the Autobots and Decepticons will have to band together against this common foe. Sounds a bit like Galvatron at the end of Transformers The Movie.
